of vegetarians and the smell of salmon fish

This years trip has been kinda bad so far. I landed and it started snowing. I went to a birthday party; was offered 'lemonade'; after having couple of sips, I happened to read the bottom of the bottle, which said '5.2%ALC/VOL'.. :(... and then today... Just two weeks and I need to start counting my days I guess.

Being a strict vegetarian is a curse I feel, especially in this country, where 'vegetarian' means who doesn't eat meat.. end of it. There is no concept of a meatless kitchen and 'clean' vessels. Now the actual story begins...

It all started with GK... the culprit colleague of mine. He was fond of fish and MK.. and PK... did not prepare fish when he was here. From my experience with them last time, I think had he not been here, these people '_#$*MIGHT*$#_' have had it in restaurants outside. But once he moved out, these people felt they should do it at home and brag about it and push GK.. down the dark drains of unfullfilled desires. And thus made this Salmon fish into our refrigerator.

Being brought up in Mangalore, where breathing involves taking in some smell of drying fish, I thot it should be pretty cool. Chalega.. no probs.. let them cook and I shalt go through it all, bear it all and come out with flying col.. err.. smell.

But it was going to be tough. PK's cooking skills were to subdue me.. :(.. I felt I should spend more time in Mangalore smelling fishes for this one was one hell of a smell. People suggested I give up my false ego and get into my bedroom. I followed their advice as if trying to satisfy their request. But no.. Salmon followed me here too.. But luckily I had a can of deodorent!!!.. Whether it was my creative juices or survival inctinct, that can got emptied and wow.. what a relief!!! Even when I had worn it, it did not please me so much!!. phew.. some temporary relief.

Time passed and people said it was safe to come out.. and so I did. It was actually better than before and then I went to kitchen with a hungry stomach. Parathas were looking great and offering themselves to me.. Must congratulate MK.. the preparation / cooking was just great to look at. But that again smelt the same Salmon. Guess the smell particles liked this surface too.. grrrr.... had them and went for a walk in the cold winter at -2 degree centigrade. After the walk, it was better. felt like I'm back to life.. till then I was like a "FISH out of water"..

Even after coming back that smell still haunts me. Thinking of having onions and a mouth wash. But what can be done to belching?... No way out!!!.. This night is going to be loooonnnggg and smelly... hahahah...

But what was the good about all this?

  • A guy who doesn't go out for a walk even in the pleasant weather of Bangalore goes for a walk in -2 deg centigrade... Hail Salmon!!
  • Otherwise lazy guy, who thinks he can put up with any situation as long as he doesn't have to shift, thinks about his values and plans to look for a new house. Long live Salmon!!
  • One who brushes just once a day for the formality sake, brushes twice, thus improving dental health.. Credits page will have Salmon written in Bold italics..
  • A lazy blogger writes one of the biggest blogs he has ever typed... And the award goes to....????
